Thunderstruck
AC/DC
1990

Raw, unadulterated power.  When I want to pick up the energy, whether it’s on a run, in the office, or snapping into a Slim Jim, it’s gotta be AC/DC.  About the only place I probably shouldn’t listen to them is in the car, because that pedal always seems to get pretty close to the floor when it’s on.  To that end, I remember almost spinning out in my 1998 Honda CRV when I arrived at some event in Provo when I arrived at the destination because I was rocking out to this song a little too hard.  Honda CRVs were not meant for AC/DC.

I love these guys.  I have no idea why my brother Trevor recently told us that AC/DC “does not belong on any top albums list” (wrong), that “even their popular stuff is trash“ (wrong) or that the band is “in contention for having the most annoying lead vocalist of all time” (wrong).  Not since esteemed historian Kyrie Irving declared that the earth is flat has anyone ever been so wrong.

One point three BILLION views for this one!  This is rock music at its finest.  Could’ve gone with any of the songs listed below, but I just love this one a bit more than the others.  And check out this live version — what Trevor wouldn’t give to be among the throngs yelling out “thunder!” In that amazing intro.  Get with it, Trevor!
