Truth No. 2
The Chicks
2002

So Tiffany decided to assert herself on this little list recently by claiming that she introduced me to Alanis Morrissette back in the day.  My first reaction was, of course, this, but babe, I'm sorry, you are just wrong on this one.  As our saying goes, I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

However, Tiffany *can* take 100% credit for introducing me to The Chicks, née The Dixie Chicks.  (We don't get to use "née" nearly enough, and I am taking full advantage and slipping one in here.)  I will admit that I scoffed at this band back in the day and was very dismissive of them as some wannabe girl power country band.  I severely underestimated this trio, and I was wrong.  These women rock and are ridiculously talented.  Not only did I come around, but when The Chicks came through on their long-anticipated tour in 2016, I was all in and had to be a contender for straight guy who sang the most songs during the show.

Could've gone with several songs from these gals, but this is a clear family favorite for us.  Natalie Maines is a ridiculously gifted vocalist, and as an added reward for reading I'm going to gift you this little gem that I recently discovered.  But the harmonizing by all The Chicks, especially in that chorus, is what makes this song divine.  Final fun fact:  this song was written by singer/songwriter and folk singer Patty Griffin.  But made famous by the one and only Chicks.
